Fans of Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog will soon have an opportunity to bring his rival into their homes thanks to a new Shadow the Hedgehog Lego set. Releasing later this year, the somewhat unusual set lets fans construct the head of Dr. Robotnik’s ultimate weapon.
When does the Shadow the Hedgehog Lego set release?
Lego revealed the upcoming Shadow the Hedgehog set in an exclusive GameSpot article on Wednesday. The 720-piece set releases on October 1 and will cost $70. It consists of Shadow’s head on a stand, a small plaque, and three gold rings. There’s also a Chaos Emerald hidden inside Shadow’s noggin.
While a little strange to look at, the Shadow the Hedgehog set is certainly memorable and lets fans pretend they are Dr. Robotnik while they put it together. That, or they can pretend Sonic finally got tired of Shadow and decided to deal with the problem permanently.
This specific depiction of Shadow is based on his debut appearance in 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2 for the Sega Dreamcast. Sonic’s edgier alternative will costar in this fall’s Sonic X Shadow Generations, which combines a remaster of Sonic Generations with new Shadow-focused content. He will also appear in the upcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The game releases a few weeks after the Shadow the Hedgehog Lego set on October 25, with the movie hitting theaters on December 20.
Sega’s edgiest Erinaceinae isn’t the only thing getting a Lego set on October 1. Four Fortnite Lego sets, ranging from $15 to $100, release on the same day.
