The highly-anticipated K-drama, The Pork Cutlets, recently premiered on MBC on July 5, 2024. With only two episodes out, the comedy series tells the story of three males — a village chief, a young boy, and a dog. The human characters are played by Jung Sang-Hoon and Jo Dan, respectively.
The village chief, Jong Ja-Wang, is already a father to three boys. Meanwhile, his wife, Shin-Ae, is pregnant with twins. Owing to their situation, the latter threatens the former to get a vasectomy. Furthermore, the villagers are frustrated with Baekgu, the dog. He has left his puppies all over the town, and they want him neutered. On the other hand, Bok-Cheol, the grandson of Baekgu’s owner, is upset with his circumcision.
Amid these chaotic scenarios, the village’s local production of yams is facing a huge loss. How will these situations come under control? Watch the K-drama to find out. It is available to stream on multiple platforms.
The Pork Cutlets K-drama: What is it about?
The Pork Cutlets K-drama is a family comedy series about a village chief who learns about the feelings of his town’s dog. On Amazon Prime Video, the official synopsis reads, “The village head leads Casanova dog ‘Baekgu’ to be neutered but ends up in the same predicament.”
Ja-Wang is a witty yet passionate head of the Onghwa village. Aside from his job, he is proud of his virility. He has three healthy sons and his wife, Shin-Ae, is pregnant again with twins. Although he feels bad for her, he does not want to stop until he has a daughter. However, luck is not on his side when Shin-Ae forces him to get a vasectomy.
Meanwhile, the village chief has two other issues in hand. One is getting Baekgu neutered because villagers are upset with his pups all around the town. The second is to improve the sale of yams. To kill two birds with one stone, he decides to promote the yams on a TV show, How is it Possible? The concept will be that the yams are the source of the dog’s stamina.
Before the shooting day, Ja-Wang goes through the vasectomy while Bok-Cheol has his circumcision. Both of them walk home disheartened and don’t want Baekgu to go through the same pain. Interestingly, the dog goes missing on the day of filming the show. Now, Ja-Wang’s position as village chief is threatened by Deok Sam. Will he succeed in solving the issues?
