It’s a proven fact that James Gunn and Chris Pratt work really well together. After all, their collaboration has produced some of the best superhero films of all time. So, with Gunn’s Superman film currently in production, people want to know whether Pratt will be cast in it and join the DCU as Booster Gold.
Here is what we have learned about the prospects of Pratt becoming a part of the Superman cast.
Will Chris Pratt appear in James Gunn’s Superman?
Given that the movie Superman is already filming, it’s unlikely that Chris Pratt will appear as any significant character in it. However, it can’t be completely ruled out.
With a major production like this, casting is a long-term process. If Pratt had been tapped to play a major role in Superman, there would have already been reports about it. However, we can’t entirely rule out the possibility of the Guardians of the Galaxy star making a cameo appearance in the film.
Is Chris Pratt joining James Gunn’s DC Universe?
There is no official announcement or confirmation if Chris Pratt will join James Gunn’s DC Universe.
In June 2024, Gunn shared a photo on his Instagram page of Pratt from the Superman set and effectively restarted speculations about whether Pratt was joining the DCU. As of early July, no official announcement was made in this regard. However, in interviews with multiple outlets, Pratt expressed interest in joining the DCU and working with Gunn again.
“Well, [it’d] probably make more sense that I would be Star-Lord again,” the Zero Dark Thirty actor told Comicbook in March 2024. “But anything is possible, and especially with James over at DC. Maybe there’s something that would be right over there. Maybe both. How about both? Let’s do both. I think it’s 100% both.”
Is Chris Pratt playing Booster Gold or Batman in the DCU?
Neither Pratt nor anyone at DCU has yet confirmed Pratt’s involvement in the upcoming superhero franchise.
However, there is considerable speculation on which character he can play if he ever joins DCU. Possible superheroes that Pratt can portray include Booster Gold, Green Arrow, Manchester Black, Jay Garrick/The Flash, John Constantine, and even Bruce Wayne/Batman.
In late June 2024, Pratt told TMZ that he would leave it to people like Gunn and the fans to decide which role he should play in the DCU. “If it could fit into my schedule and it made sense, I would love it,” he added. “Of course, I love playing Star-Lord, and hopefully there’s a chance that can come back. I just feel so blessed to be able to do any of it, to be considered for any of it. If it’s right and the fans would love it, I’d be more than happy to do it,” Pratt expressed.
