The popular Thai BL drama My Stand-In released its penultimate episode 11 on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 8 p.m. ICT on iQIYI. Starring Up Poompat Iam-samang as Ming and Poom Phuripan Sapsangsawat as Joe, the series is inching closer to its finale.
Episode 11 of My Stand-In sees Ming’s secretary, Jim, reminding the former’s brother, Mike, about the promise he gave him. Meanwhile, Joe celebrates his mother’s birthday with Sol. When the former asks about Ming, Sol says he is trying to get back together, but his family is unhappy. Joe adds that the two have not spoken in a week as he couldn’t reach him. After Sol leaves, Joe receives a text from Ming saying he is waiting for him at his place. However, he finds Mike waiting instead.
Mike informs Joe that Ming is locked up in the house because he told his dad he’s dating the latter. The former says that their family will continue to force them to split in the future. Joe then agrees to break up with Ming but wishes to tell him about it himself. However, Mike says their dad will not let him see Ming. Joe then asks if they want him to “disappear like the old Joe” without any explanation.
Furthermore, Joe’s mother finds out about his “paramore contract” with Ming. She is furious as she says she would not want her son to get money this way, even if she had to die. Joe tries to apologize, but his mother leaves the house. He then calls Mike to question why he would involve his other.
However, the latter says he would not use a “lame trick” like that and offers to take Joe to see Ming as an apology. Furthermore, Mike shares that his brother hasn’t eaten for a week. When Joe asks whose side he is on, the former says he is not on either and is only doing so to keep his promise.
My Stand-In episode 11 recap
Joe rushes to Ming when he sees him as the latter is sick and bedridden. The former then shared that someone told his mother about the contract. Joe says that they will not let the two be together. However, Ming declares he will not break up and adds that Mike will help them. The latter had promised his brother he would help him be with the old Joe if he returned.
Ming then reveals it is the old Joe in front of Mike, who is reluctant to believe it. The former’s father then comes in and starts beating up the pair. He stopped when Ming started to throw up.
What happened with Up Poompat’s family?
After being rushed to the hospital, Ming drops the act while Joe stays beside him. It turns out that getting locked up was Ming’s plan to get Mike to help him. After confirming with Master that it is the old Joe, Mike decides to keep his word.
After the latter leaves, Joe looks after Ming. When the latter’s mom comes in, she lets the former stay and feed Ming, as he hasn’t eaten for days. She then thanks Joe for protecting her son and reveals that she was the one who sent a lawyer to his mom’s place. Afterward, Joe shares with Ming’s mom that he borrowed the money because his mom was sick and adds that he will pay it back.
After receiving the documents from Mike, Ming reveals to his father that Tong used his company’s name to get the money to clear his debts. In return for not releasing the same to the press, Ming asks his father to stop messing with him and Joe. Tong then reveals that May is pregnant. The latter intervenes and tells the former not to involve her child. May then tells her brother, Ming, to do whatever he needs to. She accuses Tong of taking advantage of her family.
Afterward, Ming’s dad allows him and Joe to be together, but he would have to leave the family empty-handed. The former decides to choose Joe and leaves the house. Meanwhile, Tong decides to divorce May.
Did Poom Phuripan die again?
Tong begs Joe to convince Ming to help him. Otherwise, the loan shark will “kill” him. Later, when some men try to take the former hostage, Joe switches places with him and gets captured instead.
As Ming learned the same, Tong explained that Joe was trying to help the baby. The former calls the collector and says he’d return the money the latter owes, which he says is five hundred million Baht. As Ming’s father refuses to help, he surrenders himself as a hostage, too, so the collector can take double the money from his mom. Later, when the police arrive, a fight breaks out, and Joe gets shot while trying to save Ming.
Afterward, Joe’s soul is stuck between two worlds as the new Joe’s body fights for life. In what seems like an illusion of the afterlife, he meets the Master. When Joe asks if he has died, Master says he is neither dead nor alive and stuck between life and death once again. The former then says that this time, the former must choose his fate. Joe can either return to his body and remain in the tortuous loop or walk out the door and free himself. After contemplating his choice, Joe walks towards the door.
