With the recent announcement that The Life of Chuck is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for its world premiere, a first-look image has been unveiled featuring Tom Hiddleston as the title character.
Mike Flanagan’s upcoming Stephen King adaptation has joined the titles gracing this year’s TIFF, including Elton John: Never Too Late, Marielle Heller’s Nightbitch, and The Wild Robot. As it gears up for its 49th edition, the festival will be rolling out the red carpet from September 5 to 15.

Starring Hiddleston as Charles “Chuck” Krantz, The Life of Chuck is based on King’s 2020 short story of the same name from the author’s anthology If It Bleeds. The novel is a collection of the legendary author’s four previously unpublished novellas, including The Life of Chuck, If It Bleeds, Rat, and Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, which received a film adaptation back in 2022 starring IT’s Jaeden Martell and Donald Sutherland.
“Chuck travels backwards in time viewing his life after dying. In viewing past events, he becomes obsessed with a former student that might have a special gift,” the film’s description reads.
