The chapter picks up where the previous chapter left off, with Gustang arriving and saying he will kill Traumerei. Traumerei calls him crazy and reminds him of the promise they made never to hurt each other, no matter what. Angered by Gustang’s words, he launches an attack, decimating their surroundings.
Meanwhile, Enkidu tries to flee the carnage that is happening before him. Endorsi takes the chance to swipe the chess piece from Enkidu but fails. Sensing Enkidu’s strength, she chooses to retreat for now and attack when his guards are down. Gustang continues to destroy Traumerei’s creatures with ease, forcing Traumerei to summon Hollan.
Traumerei asks Hollan to lock Gustang up with his attack. Hollan’s attack created a living maze by intertwining thousands of Shinheuhs biting each other’s tails. The trap is made to be an infinite maze capable of regenerating faster than Gustang could burn through it. With Gustang trapped, he tries to go for Enkidu and steal the piece.
Gustang reveals that he had always doubted Hollan and had already marked him. Suddenly, Hollan’s tongue bursts into flames, and he starts to combust from the inside out. Gustang reminds Traumerei that he knew Traumerei would never trust anyone outside his control. Traumerei is surprised that he is able to escape the maze so quickly.
Gustang asks him why he is afraid to fight him and approaches Traumerei, who has escaped his flames. He asks Traumerei to come to his senses and tells him that one of them will die here. Tower of God Chapter 627 ends with Gustang slapping Traumerei, sending him flying.
