Former AEW star Ethan Page made his shocking arrival in WWE and targeted the current NXT Champion, Trick Williams. A few weeks ago on WWE NXT, the Meta-Four leader Noam Dar was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant. Trick Williams, who has been having back-and-forth conflicts with the faction for months, was accused of being the attacker, but he denied being the mystery assailant. However, on the latest edition of WWE NXT, another member of the Meta-Four, Oro Mensah, was taken out.
In the main event of the show, Trick Williams was in action in a tag team bout. Williams teamed up with Je’Von Evans and Sexyy Red in their corner. Both Williams and Evans took on The Gallus and defeated them following an assist from Sexyy Red. However, a shocking surprise came following the match.
After the match, Lash Legend, a member of Meta-Four, entered the ring to confront Trick Williams about the attacks on her faction. Grabbing the mic from Legend, Williams denied the allegations. Suddenly, the lights went out. When they came back on, Ethan Page, a former AEW star, ambushed Trick Williams, targeting the NXT Champion.
Ethan Page exposed himself as the one behind the attacks on the Meta-Four members and took out Trick Williams, concluding the show with Page holding Williams’ NXT Championship.
Ethan Page joins WWE NXT roster after leaving AEW
In the latest edition of WWE NXT, Ethan Page made his debut by assaulting Trick Williams and unveiling himself as the mystery attacker targeting Meta-Four faction members. However, many were left surprised as Ethan Page had been associated with WWE’s rival promotion, All Elite Wrestling. To offer some clarity, PWInsider shed light on the situation.
PWInsider reported that Ethan Page officially signed with WWE over the past few days and recently departed from AEW. Page’s debut was kept secret, and he also secretly visited the WWE Performance Center last week.
Ethan Page had his final match in AEW back in December against Kenny Omega on Collision. Recently, he was also removed from AEW’s roster page, indicating his departure from the promotion. However, he did wrestle in independent scenes during his absence from AEW.
