Supporting Characters in My Hero Academia (MHA): Koji Koda, Yuga Aoyama & More

My Hero Academia is a popular series in the community, and it depicts a lot more than just heroes against villains. This story focuses on different aspects such as character development, moral conflicts, and other intriguing human natures. The characters boast different powers, each with challenges, personalities, and journeys.

With Season 6 completed and the subsequent airing, audiences can’t get enough of Kōhei Horikoshi’s magnum opus. As the story progresses, supporting characters and the main cast make it immersive. That being said, here is a list of supporting characters in My Hero Academia who fleshed out the plot and stirred the heart of the fandom.

With the power to manipulate animals, birds, and even insects, Koji Koda possesses a Quirk called the Anivoice. He realizes the full spectrum of his powers after Kyoka pushes him to his limits. He doesn’t interact with humans and is a timid person. However, his friends help him to overcome his underlying challenges eventually.

He was introduced as a light-hearted character who served as comic relief. However, the long-awaited U.A. traitor was none other than Yuga Aoyama. However, it is revealed in My Hero Academia that he didn’t want to break the trust of his friends. Being the goofy side character, no one expected him to be the traitor. Guilt and remorse dawned upon him as he was well aware of his actions. However, Yuga Aoyama assures his friends that he’ll support them to defeat All For One.

Stain

An empathetic villain is one of the best character archetypes in anime. Similar is Stain, whose real name is Chizome Akaguro. Audiences loved his character as he wasn’t the typical “big bad villain.” He wasn’t a fan of the hero system in My Hero Academia. Rather than having actual heroes, it was filled with pretentious people seeking validation from the citizens. He went on a killing spree and eliminated any hero who didn’t fit with his ideologies. One of the few heroes Stain admired and respected was All Might.

The man who passed down One For All to Deku and probably one of the best-supporting characters in the series, All Might. As One For All can stack the powers of the previous owners, it grants him an immense level of raw strength. His actual name was Toshinori Yagi, and he was also Quirkless, similar to Deku. Nana Shimura, his mentor, passed down One For All to him. He suffered intense damage after fighting with All For One, and that was his call to make Deku the ninth holder of his Quirk.

Shoto Todoroki

One of the most popular characters in My Hero Academia is Shoto Todoroki. He possesses the ability to manipulate both ice and fire. This Quirk resulted from his father’s Hellflame and mother’s Frost Quirks. However, Todoroki harbored intense hatred towards his flame abilities.

His relationship with his father was the greatest, leading him to suppress his flame abilities. His strength is unmatched even when he uses just his ice abilities. He can manipulate ice and create shards to attack his enemies or build barriers to protect himself or his peers. Finally, in the UA Sports Festival, he came to terms with his fire abilities during his fight against Deku.
