The sixth season of My Hero Academia was a significant turning point for the plot. The Paranormal Liberation War arc had its fair share of revelations and plot twists. Season 5 of the series teased an exciting character’s entry in the upcoming installment, Oboro Shirakumo.
Many have not discovered this name as it was barely mentioned along with the current Pro Heroes. He affected the sixth season’s pace greatly as Shirakumo held a crucial key to one of AFO’s most important assets. Let’s delve into who this character is and what happened to them in the series.
Who is Shirakumo in My Hero Academia?
Oboro Shirakumo was a student of U.A., along with Pro Heroes like Eraser Head and Midnight. He was an extroverted, jovial, and full-of-energy kid who ensured everyone around him was happy and tried his best to make them laugh. Shirakumo possesses a Quirk called Cloud, which allows him to create substances similar to clouds.
He could carry objects on top of his cloud or even hide them in it. However, My Hero Academia manga didn’t delve into the details of his Quirk. His powers were excellent for commuting, but that didn’t mean Shirakumo wasn’t good at offense. He used those clouds to distract or disorient his enemies while attacking them. The series never discussed the full extent of his abilities.
How did Shirakumo die?
Aizawa and Shirakumo were trainees in the Purple Revolution Agency. At that time, a villain was destroying their town, and several Pro Heroes were sent to neutralize the situation. However, the villain could reflect their powers on them, quickly overwhelming the Pro Heroes.
The villain was wreaking havoc in the middle of the city, blowing off buildings and endangering the lives of several citizens. Shirakumo and Aizawa focused their attention on trying to save the citizens first. As debris was flying everywhere, Shirakumo attempted to save a group of children. He created a cloud to protect the children but, unfortunately, lost his life in the process.
