The American actress and model Angie Harmon recently faced a saddening tragedy at her house in Charlotte, NC. Here’s everything you need to know about the incident.
Angie Harmon’s dog shot and killed by an Instacart driver
On March 30, Angie Harmon’s dog, Oliver, died after a man named Christopher Anthoney Reid shot him. Reid was at Harmon’s property as a delivery driver for Instacart, the grocery delivery app. Harmon has filed a lawsuit against him and the company, claiming damages of up to $25,000, she revealed in a conversation with PEOPLE.
Harmon’s dog Oliver was a mixed breed of a German Sheperd and a Beagle, whom Angie and her daughters rescued from an SPCA shelter in Texas. As per the statement made by Christopher Reid to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the dog allegedly attacked Reid and he shot the canine to defend himself.
While speaking to PEOPLE magazine, Angie described the incident and what she went through emotionally and physically. She reportedly filed a lawsuit against both the driver and the company, as the app allegedly showed a different person from the man who arrived to deliver the groceries. She first heard a single gunshot while she was feeding her squirrels on the second floor of her residence. Harmon opened up the bedroom window and saw her 18-year-old daughter screaming on the front lawn. She then looked outside and saw her dog lying on the front porch step.
Harmon said that the bullet broke five of Oliver’s ribs, damaging his lung, before exiting his body under his left arm. He was rushed to an emergency vet but did not survive.
