Behaviour Interactive held Dead by Daylight’s 8th Anniversary livestream on Tuesday. The broadcast included a gameplay trailer for the Casting of Frank Stone and the announcement of two new crossover DLC. The first, Dungeons & Dragons, launches June 3, with Castlevania coming later this year.
Dead by Daylight reveals Frank Stone Trailer, Dungeons & Dragons and Castlevania crossovers
The Casting of Frank Stone is an upcoming Dead by Daylight spinoff from Until Dawn and Dark Pictures developer Supermassive Games. The trailer introduces fans to the game’s protagonists, four young aspiring filmmakers in the small town of Cedar Hills. Their exploration of an abandoned steel mill reveals forgotten secrets of the town’s serial killer, Frank Stone, leading them to discover cosmic horrors beyond comprehension.
As for the main game, the upcoming Dead by Daylight: Dungeons & Dragons adds a new map, Killer, Survivors, and an item. The undead sorcerer Vecna possesses four powerful spells to hunt his prey. Fly allows him to persue Survivors at high speed, while Flight of the Damned hurls ghostly projectiles. Meanwhile, Mage Hand lets him block raided Pallets and instantly raise dropped ones. Finally, his Dispelling Sphere reveals Survivors and disables Magical Items within an area of effect.
The DLC also adds the new Forgotten Ruins Map. This dark fantasy environment features treasure chests offering different random items based on dice rolls. When facing Vecna, Survivors should look out for the Hand and Eye of Vecna. When a survivor holding the Eye fast exits a Locker, they temporarily become silent and invisible. When fast entering a Locker, it teleports them to a random other Locker.
Speaking of survivors, Dead by Daylight’s new Survivors are the elven bard Aestri Yazar and her human counterpart Baermar Uraz. The only survivors of a doomed adventuring party, both have access to three unique D&D-inspired Perks.
Finally, the Dead by Daylight stream closed out with a short teaser for an upcoming Castlevania crossover. Behaviour Interactive didn’t reveal much about it, but fans will get more information on August 6.
