Osgood Perkins will follow up on Nic Cage’s serial killer thriller Longlegs with Keeper, starring Orphan Black and She-Hulk’s Tatiana Maslany.
Neon, who is distributing Longlegs, has acquired the rights to Keeper, who will also star Possessor’s Rossif Sutherland. Deadline had the first report.
Keeper Details
Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.
Osgood Perkins, son of Psycho actor Anthony Perkins, has built up an admirable directorial career in horror with The Blackcoat’s Daughter and Gretel & Hansel. Longlegs, which sees Maika Monroe’s FBI agent on the hunt for Nicolas Cage’s serial killer, is already picking up critical praise.
Perkins also has an adaptation of Stephen King’s The Monkey in the works, with Maslany also starring in that alongside Theo James and Elijah Wood.
Tatiana Masalny is perhaps best known for her television work, but has appeared in an interesting mix of films, including Karyn Kasuma’s Destroyer, George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead, and Brett Sullivan’s Ginger Snaps 2.
Rossif Sutherland has starred in Brandon Cronenberg’s Possessor, Orphan First Kill, and The Retreat.
