Prime Video has finally set the release date for Warner Bros. Animation’s long-awaited DC series Batman: Caped Crusader, over three years since it was first announced. The new animated show is scheduled to make its debut on Thursday, August 1 with all ten episodes dropping all at once.
In addition to its date announcement, the streamer also shared the first-look images from Batman: Caped Crusader, providing fans with a glimpse of the titular hero, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Commissioner Gordon, and Clayface.
What to expect from Batman: Caped Crusader?
“It is an all-new animated series and reimagining of the Batman mythology,” reads the logline. “Utilizing state-of-the-art animation techniques, this powerful creative partnership will once again reinvent the character and his iconic rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences, all set in a visually striking world.”
Batman: Caped Crusader hails from executive producers Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series), J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), and Matt Reeves (The Batman, The Penguin). Originally developed for Max, Amazon MGM Studios ultimately picked up the series for a two-season order last March 2023. Based on characters from DC, Batman: Caped Crusader is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions, and 6th & Idaho, with Ed Brubaker and Sam Register executive producing.
