Paul Walter Hauser has joined the stacked cast of the still-untitled Naked Gun reboot from Paramount Pictures. According to Deadline, the actor will take on the Captain Ed role, starring alongside previously announced cast members Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.
The announcement comes after he was cast in Josh Gad’s planned Chris Farley biopic, setting up another busy year for the actor and professional wrestler. This year alone, Hauser is in the voice cast for Netflix’s animated feature, Orion and the Dark. He will be heard next in Inside Out 2, in which he serves as the voice for Riley’s new emotion Embarrassment.
Hauser can be seen in movies like I, Tonya, BlacKkKlansman, Late Night, Silk Road, Cruella, Queenpins, and Delia’s Gone, as well as in television shows such as Kingdom, Cobra Kai, and The Afterparty. The actor has also been nominated for various award categories and has won Critics’ Choice Television Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Primetime Emmy Awards for his exceptional portrayal of serial killer Larry Hall in the true crime drama Black Bird, opposite Taron Egerton.
The character Hauser will next play in the Naked Gun reboot was previously played by George Kennedy in the film series and Alan North in ABC’s Police Squad!. His other upcoming projects include the crime thriller Americana and the heist thriller The Instigators.

The project will be directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer, who also wrote the draft script along with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. The producers are Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins, with Daniel M. Stillman serving as the additional executive producer.
