tvN’s Queen of Tears has finally concluded with a happy ending, and the viewers are over the moon. The finale episode’s rating surpassed the previous record of Crash Landing on You, making history for the network.
The drama, which stars Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won in the lead, revolves around a married couple’s life story. Hong Hae-In (Ji-Won) is the wife and the chaebol heiress of the Queens Group. Her husband, Baek Hyun-Woo (Soo-Hyun), becomes the legal director of the same group. When they face a rough spot in their marriage, the family goes through a tough time. The drama shows how they work their way out and what happens to their relationship.

Queen of Tears dethrones Crash Landing on You’s record in tvN’s K-drama history with its record-breaking viewership ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, the finale episode of the Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won starrer collected a 24.850% rating nationwide, surpassing Crash Landing on You. The drama’s last episode, featuring Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Bin, garnered a 21.683% rating.
Spoilers ahead. After Hae-In’s (Kim Ji-Won) surgery, she loses her memory. Eun-Sung schemes to make Baek Hyun-Woo the murder accused. Meanwhile, Yoon Eun-Sung fills Hae-In with the wrong details. She starts to believe him, but things start to change once she sees Hyun-Woo in jail. How they get back together and what happens to Eun-Sung by the end of the drama are beautifully portrayed.
Queen of Tears set a new record in tvN’s history. The viewers loved Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won’s chemistry on and offscreen. The supporting actors in the drama, including Park Sung-Hoon, Kwak Dong-Yeon, Lee Ju-Bin, and others, gave their best performances to help create history. The drama also features a massive cameo by Song Joong-Ki. Directed by Kim Hee-Won and Jang Young-Woo, it is penned by Park Ji-Eun, who wrote Crash Landing on You.
