An update has emerged on Tony Khan following the attack by The Elite and Jack Perry on AEW Dynamite. The latest edition of Dynamite saw Jack Perry punching Tony Khan in the stomach, followed by The Young Bucks from The Elite delivering a ‘Tony Khan Driver.’
Fightful Select, behind a paywall, reported that Tony Khan wore a neck brace after the attack. Khan has been displaying the effects of the attack backstage, even though it’s a closed set. He continued this portrayal throughout the night. The Parking Lot Brawl between Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta was filmed after AEW Dynamite, and Khan was seen wearing the neck brace. He wore it throughout, although he likely won’t appear on camera.
Despite this, Tony Khan remained committed to selling his injury. He also appeared at the NFL draft. Khan, the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, was seen wearing a neck brace during the NFL draft. WWE commentator Pat McAfee also commented on Khan wearing the neck brace for the NFL Draft. McAfee jokingly stated, ‘Guy’s got a broken neck. He is battling through it.’
Jack Perry and The Elite reveal reasons for attacking Tony Khan
After the shocking attack on AEW President Tony Khan, The Elite and Jack Perry finally broke their silence regarding why they chose to target Khan. After the show went off the air, The Elite and Jack Perry commented on the attack.
Perry stated, “You took eight months of my career, and you just got what was coming to you.” Matthew Jackson added, “When we returned, we said we were here to put AEW back on track. It was time to change the world, and what you just saw out there, unfortunately for Tony, the best boss I’ve ever worked for, by the way, was just us trying to get this place back to what it was supposed to be, and that was our final play. The Elite has arrived.”
Perry, who returned to AEW after eight months, took matters into his own hands. He has decided to join The Elite, who recently fired Kenny Omega and added Kazuchika Okada to the faction.
