Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg shared his thoughts on AEW, a competitor of WWE. He has not stepped inside a wrestling ring since his unsuccessful challenge against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at Elimination Chamber 2022. Following this, his contract with WWE also expired at the end of 2022.
Goldberg, who has been a free agent, has said in multiple interviews that he wants to have a great retirement match. However, in a recent interview with 93.7 The Ticket, he was asked about AEW and whether he has had talks with Tony Khan.
Goldberg stated, “I’ve talked to him a number of times throughout the past. But this is where you’re gonna get the most blunt answer you’re gonna get from me. The product’s too cheesy. The product is too cheesy. It doesn’t deserve to have…I mean, whatever.
“You’re really gonna get me going. But if there was a comparable, viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah, then it would be a consideration. But not a chance,” he added.
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg no longer seeking for a retirement match
WWE Hall of Famer, who has multiple times stated his desire for a retirement match, recently expressed interest in wrestling AEW’s Sting. However, it now appears that Goldberg is no longer interested in a retirement match.
In the same interview, he discussed the retirement match, stating that he wants to focus on his family and son. He said, “I’ll be perfectly honest with you. I’ve kind of put that on the back burner. Right now, I’ve segued into dad, first and foremost, and husband and car host. I’m just having fun at my garage. So I really don’t have a lot of time right now to dedicate to prepping for a retirement match.”
It will be interesting to see when we can see him back in the wrestling ring once again, especially with him ruling out a move to AEW and a retirement match.
