Netflix has released a new trailer for Atlas, a new sci-fi movie starring Jennifer Lopez. The new Atlas trailer previews Lopez’s new sci-fi movie releasing on Netflix in May 2024. The film was written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite.
“The film follows Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez), a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past,” the synopsis reads. “But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it.”

Who is in Atlas?
Atlas is directed by Brad Peyton, who previously made 2010’s Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, 2012’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, 2015’s San Andreas, 2016’s Incarnate, and 2018’s Rampage.
Along with Lopez, Atlas stars Simu Liu (Barbie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction, This Is Us), Gregory James Cohan (The VelociPastor), Abraham Popoola (The Great, Andor), Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time, The Lincoln Lawyer), and Mark Strong (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Shazam!).
Atlas is produced by Peyton and Jeff Fierson for ASAP Entertainment, Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures, Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions, and Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter for Berlanti/Schechter Films. Samson Mücke and Michael Riley McGrath serve as executive producers.
Lopez has worked with Netflix prior to Atlas, as she previously starred in 2023’s The Mother (directed by Niki Caro). She was also the subject of Amanda Micheli’s 2022 Netflix documentary, Halftime.
Atlas releases on Netflix on May 24, 2024.
