Kino Lorber is putting out a Repossessed Blu-ray release for the Leslie Nielsen-starring parody movie of The Exorcist.
Possess the Repossessed Blu-ray Soon
The movie, released in 1990 and directed by Bob Logan (Meatballs 4), acts as an unofficial spoof sequel to William Friedkin’s 1973 horror classic.
It’s been some time since Father Jebedaiah Mayii exorcised the Devil from little Nancy Aglet, who is now grown up with a husband and two children of her own. But the prince of darkness wants to go a second round and has returned to repossess her! With Father Mayii unwilling to help, Father Luke Brophy tries his best to help Nancy, even when TV’s Ernest Weller plans to air the exorcism live on TV.
Repossessed arrived early in Leslie Nielsen’s run of spoof comedies and after the success of The Naked Gun (which is being rebooted soon with Liam Neeson). He’d go on to make parodies such as Spy Hard, Dracula Dead and Loving It, Wrongfully Accused, Scary Movie 3, and Superhero Movie.
Also starring in Repossessed is The Exorcist’s own Linda Blair, lampooning her famous role as Regan MacNeill. Interestingly, she’d starred in another movie that Nielsen parodied, with Airport 1975 being one of the plane disaster movies sent up by Airplane!
Details on what to expect in this 2K transfer Repossessed Blu-ray and its release date will be revealed soon.
