Boruto: Blue Vortex has been turning heads with each passing chapter, with every chapter inching closer to an epic battle. The time skip allowed fans to see some of their favorite characters develop and introduce some new ones. However, none of the numerous new characters introduced has made an immediate impact, like Jura. He first appears in Boruto: Blue Vortex Chapter 4 and is revealed as the series’ main antagonist. He is the self-proclaimed leader of the God tree clones whose sole purpose is to hunt down Naruto.
Jura: Boruto’s biggest challenge yet
Jura is one of the evolved God trees, born after Code decided to split the ten tails into smaller versions. After using his claws on the ten tails Isshiki kept, Code created a chakra-consuming army named Claw Grime.
The Claw Grimes were made to hunt chakra. After taking a certain amount, they would become miniature God trees. However, when these God trees take chakra from powerful people, they trap their victims in a tree and birth a God tree clone. So far, in the series, only four known God tree clones have been shown, with Jura leading the group.
Jura is the strongest of the other Shinji clones, and this is seen in the respect he commands from the others. Apart from being born from the ten tails, Jura also possesses two Rinnegan. This means he has access to the Six Paths Powers and can use most of its powers in combat. Like the ten tails, Jura possesses a massive amount of chakra and the same regeneration ability. However, his actual strength remains a mystery as he has never been pushed to the limit.
The series has shown that the Godtrees have a connection to their targets. Hidari, the Sasuke clone, is after Sarada, while Matsuro, Moegi’s clone, wants to kill Konohamaru. However, the series has yet to reveal who Jura is cloned after. Fans can expect it to be someone strong with a meaningful relationship with Naruto.
