Ninja Kamui episode 7 recap: Emma and Mari’s relationship explored
Ninja Kamui episode 7 begins with an intense showdown between Higan and Lil. Higan’s use of the formidable Gusoku Gear helps him win the battle, and he sends Lil’s severed head to Yamaji as a warning sign. Moreover, Emma manages to survive.
Later, Emma reveals how her family ditched her due to her disfigured face. However, she sought refuge in the ninja world, where she grew up learning that a ninja’s pride is in protecting Japan. Additionally, she became an expert in disguise to conceal her face from the world.
However, Mari accepted her for who she was, and the two grew closer. They both confided in each other, and Mari became Emma’s mother-like ally. Unfortunately, their world turned upside down when Yamaji took over the ninja world and decided to capitalize on it, leaving the collective ninja pride behind. While many retaliated, others stayed silent due to fear.
But Emma was confused when Mari told Emma that she had broken the ninja code by falling in love with someone and having a baby with him. As per their previous chieftain’s order, Emma spied on Mari and planned to assassinate her. However, her affection for Mari stopped her, and she almost killed herself instead. Fortunately, Mari saved her.
Emma then decided to stay with Yamaji to collect intel on him while secretly staying in touch with Mari. Finally, the episode ended with Emma informing Higan that Yamaji was working on his master plan.
