Amazon Prime Video has pulled back the curtain on its highly-anticipated slate for the Indian audience in 2024, showcasing an impressive array of 69 new and returning series and original and licensed films. The announcement, made at a star-studded event in Mumbai, featured prominent figures from the Indian entertainment industry alongside top Amazon executives.
Mike Hopkins, Head of Amazon Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, underscored the platform’s commitment to the Indian market, recognizing India as a key geographic area for growth. “Last year, India had the highest percentage of Prime Members streaming Prime Video than any country in the world,” he noted, highlighting the platform’s widespread popularity and impact.

Amazon Prime Video Original Series:
Amongst the standout offerings is Citadel: Honey Bunny, an Indian addition to the Russo brothers’ Citadel universe, boasting stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Also in the mix is Gulkanda Tales, a satirical comedy-drama from the hit-making duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Ananya Panday will also be making her OTT debut in Call Me Bae. The series follows the journey of a once-heiress who finds herself downsized to a hustler.

Amazon Prime Video has surprised the audience by also announcing films that will return to the OTT platform after its theatrical run.
