Bleecker Street’s absurd Bigfoot comedy Sasquatch Sunset has a Blu-ray release date just after its theatrical debut next month.
Sasquatch Sunset Blu-ray Draws Near
The movie, directed by David and Nathan Zellner, follows a family of Sasquatch documentary style as they go about their lives in the misty forests of North America. Oh, Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Koeough are playing two of the Bigfoots.
With a select theatrical release on April 12, and a wider release on April 19, 2024, the Sasquatch Sunset Blu-ray comes just a short while later on May 28, 2024.
“In the misty forests of North America, a family of Sasquatches—possibly the last of their enigmatic kind— embark on an absurdist, epic, hilarious, and ultimately poignant journey over the course of one year,” reads the synopsis. “These shaggy and noble giants fight for survival as they find themselves on a collision course with the ever-changing world around them.”
The film has received plenty of plaudits on the festival scene, and the recent Red Band trailer gave a good account of why that is.
Sasquatch Sunset is directed and produced by David and Nathan Zellner from a screenplay David Zellner wrote. Also starring alongside Eisenberg and Keough are Nathan Zellner and Christophe Zajac-Denek. The film is produced by Eisenberg, Lars Knudsen, Tyler Campellone, George Rush, and David Harari, with Midsommar’s Ari Aster executive producing.
