Love in the Air premiered back in 2022 and quickly became a fan-favorite among Thai BL series watchers. The drama has two parts. The first half follows the story of Payu (Boss Chaikamon Sermsongwittaya) and Rain (Noeul Nuttarat Tangwai). At the same time, the second half focuses on Prapai (Fort Thitipong Sangngey) and Sky (Peat Wasuthorn Chaijindar). Here’s how Love in the Air ends.
Love in the Air: What happens to Payu and Rain’s relationship?
Rain is a university freshman who encounters a biker when his car breaks down on a rainy night. The two cross paths again when Rain discovers that the handsome stranger is the popular guy from his department, whom he’s heard stories about. Rain gets caught up in Payu’s dangerous world when he sneaks into the underground racing cult Payu is part of. The pair’s love-hate relationship makes viewers laugh and swoon over their chemistry.
After losing a bike race to Payu, Stop devises a plan to take revenge on him by kidnapping Rain. Stop asks Payu to come ‘crawling’ to him if he wants to save his boyfriend. Despite knowing it’s a trap, Payu rushes to save Rain. When Payu arrives, Stop threatens Rain and tells Payu to kneel to save him. Stop puts his foot on Payu’s back and takes pictures to humiliate him for calling Stop a ‘loser.’
Payu holds back and gets beaten up by Stop, so they don’t harm Rain. However, thanks to Payu’s brother Saifah, Chai gets there on time and takes control of the situation. He tells Stop how important Payu is to the racing cult boss, Mr Pakin, and beats him up.
After getting rescued, Payu and Rain’s Love in the Air story ends happily as they make their relationship official in front of their university friends.
Love in the Air: What happened to Fort and Peat?
Love in the Air’s second half follows the story of Payu and Rain’s best friends, Prapai and Sky. The two cross paths when Rain and Sky sneak into the racing venue. Prapai pulls Sky to safety when he gets chased by the guards. He then offers to get Sky out of there if he gives Prapai something in return. Sky tells him to ‘get what he wants,’ and the two spend the night together. Following the encounter, Prapai sets his mind on wooing Sky. However, Sky tries to push Prapai away after an abusive relationship in the past that left him with PTSD.
Prapai and Sky’s Love in the Air journey tugs at heartstrings. In the final episode, Sky comes face-to-face with the guy who left him with a trauma, Gun. He mistreats Sky again when the two come across while Prapai is racing. Sky starts to feel unwell and returns to Prapai’s apartment. Earlier, Gun’s friend asked Prapai’s permission to bring a girl to his room. Despite being reluctant at first, Prapai eventually agreed to his request.
When Sky gets to Prapai’s room, he finds Gun and his friends waiting for him. Gun forces himself on Sky and lies to him about Prapai ‘giving’ Sky to them. After completing his race, Prapai is confused when he finds out that Rain dropped Sky at his apartment, knowing that Gun’s friend is also there. The three then rush to the apartment and find Sky shaken. Gun makes a false claim that Sky tried to ‘seduce’ him. However, Prapai doesn’t believe him and beats Gun up. Sky then tells Prapai about this abusive past with Gun.
The story ends on a heartwarming note as Prapai promises to stay by Sky’s side.
