Netflix has released the Testament: The Story of Moses trailer for its newest documentary drama starring Avi Azulay as the titular biblical character. The docuseries will start streaming on March 27.
“The documentary explores the life of Moses and his rise from outcast and murderer to prophet and liberator of the Hebrews,” reads the synopsis. “From the banks of the Nile to Mount Sinai to the Red Sea, Testament seamlessly interweaves gripping docudrama and expert interviews, revealing Moses’ intensely personal quest for redemption — setting in motion some of the most inspiring and iconic events in the Bible, Qur’an and Torah.”

Who’s involved in Testament: The Story of Moses?
Testament: The Story of Moses is an epic three-episode series narrated by Charles Dance. It is set to follow the same storytelling format as previously released historical docudramas Queen Cleopatra and Alexander: The Making of a God, which are both available for streaming on Netflix. It. is directed by Benjamin Ross, with Emre Sahin, Kelly McPherson, Sarah Wetherbee, Fikret Manoglu, Brian Nelson, and Sam Anzel serving as executive producers. It is a production by Karga Seven Pictures.
“Anyone who has seen The Ten Commandments as a child was well aware of the more epic elements of the tale,” Sahin and McPherson said in a statement (via Tudum). “The burning bush, the plagues, Passover, the Red Sea, and, of course, the Ten Commandments. What really drew us in was the mystery of Moses’ inner life, his struggles with his own identity, his self-doubt, his humanness.”
