Synopsis:
The following is from the DVD cover:
“Star Trek fans voted online for their favorite Klingon episodes from the Star Trek television series, which resulted in Star Trek Fan Collective – Klingon. Get ready for brilliant battles, thrilling adventure and pulse-pounding action when the Federation encounters its arch nemesis – the Klingon Empire.
This famously fierce warrior race hails from the Beta Quadrant, on the planet X’onoS. Genetically predisposed to hostility, Klingons hold honor above life and would rather be killed by their enemies than be taken hostage, an act that brings dishonor to both the Klingon and his family for three generations.

Mini-Review:
This is kind of an odd Star Trek collection. They polled fans online about what their favorite Klingon related episodes were and they were included on this DVD set. But the strange thing is that most Star Trek fans probably already own these episodes. Why would they buy this “Fan Collection” if they already own all the TV series DVD sets?
Ironically, this “Fan Collection” is more appropriate for non-fans or casual Star Trek fans. If you want a good cross section of episodes and you don’t want to invest in costly DVD sets, this is a good alternative. You get the best episodes from the original series, The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, and Enterprise all together. Even better, the episodes are placed in chronological order of the stories, so you get to see the variety of portrayals of Klingons over time. It’s pretty cool to see episodes from the original series sandwiched in-between episodes of The Next Generation and the latest series, Enterprise. I had actually never even seen an episode of Enterprise, so I was kind of impressed by what I saw in Broken Bow. Yes, it had cheesy moments like the opening theme song and the anti-bacterial rub-down, but overall it was better than I was expecting. However, I was more pleased to get the classic “The Trouble With Tribbles” episode.
In short, if you’re a casual Trek fan, this is a great DVD collection for you.
The bonus features are rather meager. You get a commentary along with the Enterprise episode “Broken Bow”. But more entertaining are the Text Commentaries provided on a variety of the episodes. They feature more trivia than you ever expected to learn about the Star Trek episodes.
