Major Update on CM Punk’s Status for WWE Elimination Chamber

The latest update on CM Punk brings to light his status for WWE’s next premium live event, Elimination Chamber. The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia.

Out of the ring with an arm injury sustained at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk, previously advertised for the Elimination Chamber, finds himself sidelined. Despite the buzz about a potential surprise return at this Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber in Australia, recent reports have effectively shut down such speculation.

PWInsider has confirmed that CM Punk did not travel with WWE to Australia, staying back in the United States likely for rehabilitation purposes. Consequently, WWE has not included him in the lineup for the Elimination Chamber event.

There had been speculation that Punk was set to win in the Elimination Chamber match and challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. Unfortunately, due to his injury and absence from the Australian event, it seems fans will have to wait longer to see any such showdown.

Randy Orton shares his thoughts on CM Punk’s WWE comeback

Randy Orton and CM Punk both made their return at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames this year. However, some fans felt Punk’s return overshadowed Orton’s comeback after nearly 18 months away from the ring.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, The Viper recounted the moments leading up to his return. He stated, “The day of Survivor Series, I’m about to get my boots on,” said Orton. “I’m feeling the nerves, it had been a year-and-a-half. Triple H is like, ‘Hey Randy, I’ve got to talk to you for a second.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, what’s up, man?’ So he told me a couple things. And then he went, ‘One more thing – Punk’s returning tonight. I thought he was f—— with me. I said, ‘You’re joking,’ and he was like, ‘No, I’m not. This is something that just happened in the last few days,” he said.

With both Orton and Punk back in WWE the possibility of WWE arranging a match between them intrigues fans, especially considering their memorable rivalry from 2011. Their WrestleMania 27 face-off, where Orton emerged victorious, remains a highlight for many.
