Update on Vikram’s Thangalaan: Makers Reveal Film’s Plot Details

Tamil star Vikram is all set to take up a unique role in his upcoming film Thangalaan. The actor’s upcoming film has raised anticipation among fans because of its intriguing teaser and posters. The movie is set against the backdrop of British-led India. However, more details about the movie’s plot have been kept under wraps. Now, the makers themselves revealed the film’s plot and how it would teach the audience about the country’s history.

Vikram was last seen in celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan film franchise. The actor portrayed the role of Aditha Karikalan in the two movies and won fans’ hearts with his acting skills. He is all set to shine on the big screens with Thangalaan.

Apart from Vikram, the movie also stars Pasupathy, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, and others. Pa Ranjith directs the film, while Studio Green and Neelam Productions bankroll it.

Thangalaan to reveal why India was called ‘sone ki chidiya’

According to Hindustan Times, the makers of Thangalaan recently released a note revealing the film’s story. The makers confirmed that the movie will answer the question: Why was India called Sone ki chidiya (Golden Bird)?

Thangalaan’s plot follows the story of Kolar Gold Fields, one of the biggest gold mines in the world. Back when Britishers exploited the gold mines in India, they took over 900 tonnes of gold to England. The makers have further claimed that they will explore the real story of KGF and its background.

The makers aim to teach the new generation of India about the country’s history and treasures. Moreover, how people tried to save KGF from the Britishers and yet were exploited by the colonizers.

The movie makers allegedly postponed the movie as they aimed to take it to film festivals. Thangalaan is set to hit the theaters in April 2024.
