Eminem’s Stans Documentary: How Many Grammy Awards Did the Rapper Win?

A documentary about Eminem and his fans is going to be released later this year. Titled ‘Stans’, Variety reports that this upcoming project sees the American rapper as one of its co-producers. Reports suggest that he will produce it via Shady Films. Furthermore, they will partner up with DIGA Studios and Hill District Media and have Paramount/MTV as their distributors.

Ever since Eminem released his hit song titled ‘Stan’, in 2000, the word got associated with fanatical/delusional superfans. It was the third single from the rapper’s third album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ and ran for 6 minutes and 44 seconds on the album version. Furthermore, ‘Stan’ is popular to this day and peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 after its release.

According to the Grammy Awards’ official website, the rapper has won 15 Grammys throughout his career. Interestingly, he has been nominated an impressive 44 times. Furthermore, he is fourth in the list of ‘Most Grammys won by a rapper’. The only artists ahead of him on this list are Kendrick Lamar (17), Kanye West, and Jay Z (both 24).

According to Variety, the synopsis of the upcoming documentary reads, “Revealing, edgy, and disarmingly personal journey into the world of super fandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic and enduring artists, Eminem, and the fans that worship him.”

The director of ‘Stans’ is Steven Leckart. Leckart is best known for projects such as Challenger: The Final Flight, What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali, Legacy: True Story of the L.A. Lakers, and more.

When did Eminem win his first Grammy Award?

According to the Grammy Awards’ official website, Eminem won his first Grammy Award at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in the year 2000. He won the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance (for My Name Is) and Best Rap Album (for The Slim Shady LP). In addition, his song ‘Guilty Conscience’ (featuring Dr. Dre) was nominated for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. He has also performed at the coveted event four times between 2001 and 2011.

In 2018, Sway Calloway interviewed Eminem, where he shockingly revealed that he would never attend the award ceremony again. He stated that the organizers “suck the blood out of artists” to get artists to attend them.

Eminem said, “Every f***ing year. I’m tired of seeing it. For whatever reason they’re always pitching this hint that you might win album of the year, which used to be a big deal. I don’t think it’s a big deal now.”

He further stated,

“I sat at home for the Grammys this year and watched Jay and Kendrick not get it, and I felt like one of them should have got it. I felt Joyner Lucas should have won a Grammy for “I’m Not Racist.” Every year we went, I was up for album of the year, and then ‘the winner is Norah Jones!”

He furiously ended his statement by saying, “Don’t f***ing get us all here, to use as your selling point for your f***ing show, and stiff everybody every single f***ing time. After that point in time, I said don’t ever ask me to come here again. My answer is no for a hundred million years.”

Eminem won his last Best Rap Album Grammy Award in 2015 for his album The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
