Pokimane is reportedly leaving Twitch after a decade of streaming on the platform but her fans are wondering where she is going to stream next and whether she is joining rival company Kick. Here is all that is known at the moment.
Is Pokimane joining Kick for $75 million?
No, Pokimane is not joining Kick for $75 million.
On January 30, 2024, SWB an X (formerly Twitter) user and netizen put up a post that has received over 13.2 million impressions, suggesting that Pokimane would be signing a $75 million deal with Kick and joining them. However, Pokimane immediately put these rumors to rest in a new podcast episode of don’t tell anyone with pokimane on January 31, where she revealed that she did not feel anything particular toward streamers who used Kick but also stated the following:
“Me, personally, I would not stream on Kick, because I know that that company as a whole is funded by online crypto gambling websites that are not legal in a lot of countries that, in my opinion, are kind of shady, and I personally don’t want to stream somewhere and bring my audience somewhere where they could then potentially be funneled into an addiction.”
It is also important to note that Kick themselves trolled her with a cookies post, referencing the time she launched an expensive cookie collection and received criticism from a fan whom she jokingly called “a broke boy”. So, it seems as if Kick is also not interested in having her be a part of their streaming company.
Where is Pokimane going to stream?
Pokimane will likely now stream on YouTube.
This is probably due to Pokimane having immediately announced starting her first-ever YouTube stream via X (Twitter) shortly after announcing her departure from Twitch. This first stream’s topic is Twitch Streamers vs YouTube Streamers.
However, on the other hand, she will likely give up full-time streaming in general as she has previously expressed wanting to focus on herself as a person. So, even if she has moved to YouTube she will only probably do semi-regular streams
