What is In the Know about?
“In the series, Lauren Caspian is NPR’s third most popular host,” reads the logline. “He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.”
In the Know is created and executive produced by Zach Woods, Brandon Gardner, and Judge, with Woods and Gardner serving as showrunners. The series features the voices of Woods as Lauren Caspian, Judge as Sandy, Caitlin Reilly as Fabian, Charlie Bushnell as Chase, J. Smith-Cameron as Barb, and Carl Tart as Carl. They will be joined by live-action guest interviewees, including Kaia Gerber, Jonathan Van Ness, Ken Burns, Finn Wolfhard, Norah Jones, Tegan and Sara, Nicole Byer, Roxane Gay, Mike Tyson, Jorge Masvidal, and Hugh Laurie.
It is executive produced by The Office creator Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis for Bandera Entertainment, along with Alexander Bulkley and Corey Campodonico for Shadowmachine. It hails from Universal Television.
