He is forced to go back to Whitechapel and investigate the murder of a rabbi, for which Isaac Bloom has been falsely accused, according to Deborah. Coming to accusations, Susan has been sentenced to death, and all attempts of Jackson to free her are unsuccessful. Ultimately, he helps her to fake her death and hide out of plain sight. Jackson tries to be a grieving widow as Susan’s son is now being raised by Drake and Rose.
Adam Rothenberg and Matthew Macfadyen play Captain Homer Jackson and Detective Inspector Edmund Reid in the series. Bennet Drake is depicted by Jerome Flynn, and Long Susan by MyAnna Buring.
