The Tell Me That You Love Me finale episode then shows Jin-Woo having a friendly conversation with his ex-girlfriend, Seo-Kyung (Kim Ji-Hyun). It looks like they have finally found closure, and Seo-Kyung can finally move on in life. She also gives Jin-Woo one of his paintings to gift to the elderly woman. Seo-Kyung is unaware of the fact that the elderly woman is Jin-Woo’s birth mother.
Later on, Jin-Woo goes to see his birth mother in the hospital. The two finally reunite, and after seeing Jin-Woo, the woman recognizes him as her son. In that emotionally heavy moment, Jin-Woo breaks down. The woman tries to console him in a heartfelt way. That day, when Jin-Woo is sitting at his friend Ki-Hyun’s bar, Kwon Do-Hun walks in and insists on having a drink together. They have a heart-to-heart conversation and resolve their conflict and misunderstandings.
In the meantime, a heartbroken Mo-Eun reveals to her mother that she has broken up with Jin-Woo. She also discloses that she knows that her mother is not her birth mother. She thanks her for accepting her and taking care of her all these years. It is another heartwarming moment in the episode.
Thereafter, Tell Me That You Love Me episode 16 returns to the moment when Ji-Woo sees Mo-Eun at the airport. He follows her but loses her eventually. The series then jumps to the next year. Both Mo-Eun and Jin-Woo have returned to Seoul. Mo-Eun is now playing the lead role in a play, while Jin-Woo is seen giving an inspiring speech to university students. It seems both of them are doing good professionally.
However, they are still heartbroken from their break up and miss each other immensely. Towards the end of the finale episode of Tell Me That You Love Me, Jin-Woo’s students gift him a ticket to a play. It is Mo-Eun’s new play. When Jin-Woo goes to see the play, he meets Mo-Eun after such a long time.
Jin-Woo watches Mo-Eun perform, and the two can feel the emotions behind each other’s eyes. Jin-Woo seems to be completely immersed in Mo-Eun’s performance. When the play ends, Mo-Eun rushes outside to meet Jin-Woo. When the two meet outside, Jin-Woo uses sign language to re-introduce himself to Mo-Eun. Mo-Eun then walks towards him with a lot of emotions in her eyes.
The scene ends right there, and the series showcases another scene in the future, where Jin-Woo and Mo-Eun are walking together, holding hands. Tell Me That You Love Me finale episode ends with Jin-Woo’s voice saying “I love you” to Mo-Eun in the background as the two keep on walking, following the beautiful train tracks.
