Masterchef India Telugu is based on the Masterchef Australia. The show features the judges panel with celebrity chefs like Sanjay Thumma, Nikitha Umesh, and Chalapathi Rao. The format of the show revolves around 14 contestants alongside three chefs as judges and a host. Each contestant faces challenges in making unique dishes and serving them to judges. Produced by Innovative Film Academy and Endemol Shine India, MasterChef India Telugu will soon release on a digital streaming platform. As per recent reports, the cooking reality show will be streaming on Sony LIV from January 22, 2024, onwards.
MasterChef Telugu season 1 aired with 28 episodes on Gemini TV from August 27 to November 27, 2021. The first season featured Chef Chalapathi Rao, Sanjay Thumma, and Mahesh Padala as judges. Tamannahh Bhatia hosted the first sixteen episodes, while Anasuya Bharadwaj hosted episodes 17-24. There were no hosts present in the remaining episodes. The winner of season 1 was K. Krishna Tejasvi, a homemaker from Hyderabad.
The MasterChef India franchise helps the audience to explore the unique and advanced ways of cooking. This franchise hopes to connect with regional viewers through diverse language adaptations.
