Nayanthara’s Annapoorani Movie OTT Release Date Confirmed, Claim Reports

Nilesh Krishnaa directed Annapoorani – The Goddess of Food, starring Nayanthara, is all set to make its OTT debut. Apart from Nayanthara, this Tamil drama also stars Jai, Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, KS Ravikumar, and Karthik Kumar, among others, in pivotal roles. Zee Studios, in collaboration with Trident Arts and Naad SStudios, has produced this film.

The film hit the theaters on December 1, 2023, with limited release across Tamil Nadu. With this release, Nayanthara returns to the big screen with her 75th film. Despite this, many fans and movie enthusiasts expressed their disappointment towards the film.

The movie is based on a woman who belongs to an orthodox family and wants to become a chef. She belongs to a strict vegetarian family, and despite this, she desires to master various non-vegetarian delicacies. As the story moves forward, she faces lots of complications as her father serves as a temple priest. As a priest, one of the duties of her father is to prepare the exclusive vegetarian offerings, prasadam (sacred food). Her journey culminates in participation in a culinary competition, ultimately realizing her ambition of becoming a corporate chef.

However, the movie roughly earned $423k net in its first week.

Annapoorani Movie OTT coming on ZEE5, release date

As per reports, Annapoorani – The Goddess of Food is set for its digital premiere on the Zee5 OTT platform. The film is expected to be available on the OTT platform from December 29, 2023. Reports also suggest that the movie will be streamed in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam languages as well. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

Additionally, the movie has a rating of 4.9/10 on IMDB. The movie faced criticism due to a few scenes that were considered offensive by a specific community. There were also demands to ban the film.
