On December 17, 2023, Pallavi Prashanth was announced as the winner of Bigg Boss Telugu 7. The YouTuber’s fans were thrilled with the winner’s announcement and sent their best wishes to him. However, when his fans crowded outside the Annapurna Studios, police arrested the YouTuber on December 20, 2023, for allegedly disturbing the peace.
Several videos made rounds on the internet claiming how Pallavi Prashanth’s fans vandalized vehicles outside the studios. Amardeep Chowdhary, the first runner-up of the show, was among the contestants whose car was attacked. As per reports, his family tried to appeal to Prashanth’s supporters to let them go, yet they attacked the car. They even broke the rear windowpane of their car.
In addition, the supporters allegedly vandalized some RTC buses parked beside the cars. TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar reported the matter via X (formerly Twitter), claiming that six buses were damaged amid the attack. Sajjanar slammed Pallavi Prashanth’s fans because they vandalized the buses that are a vital mode of traveling for people. Furthermore, a complaint was lodged at the Jubilee Hills Police Station regarding the same.
Why was Pallavi Prashanth arrested?
Telangana police have booked suo moto cases on the Bigg Boss Telugu 7 winner and his supporters. These cases are allegedly registered under the IPC sections 147, 148, 290, 353, 427, and 149, leading to Pallavi Prashanth’s arrest in Hyderabad on December 20, 2023.
As per a report by ANI, Pallavi Prashanth was taken to the Jubilee Hills Police Station for investigation. In a statement, Chandra Shekhar, the Sub-Inspector of Jubilee Hills Police Station, said, “A case has been registered against Prashanth and his followers for unlawful assembly and vandalism.” Police also reported that the celebrations after the Bigg Boss Telugu 7 finale took an unexpected turn.
