The first IF trailer has been released, giving fans a look at John Krasinski’s upcoming star-studded fantasy comedy movie. IF is set to release in theaters on May 17, 2024.
“Imaginary friends are not just these adorable creations, they are time capsules for our hopes, dreams, ambitions,” Krasinski said of the film during Paramount Pictures’ panel at the 2023 CinemaCon. “I wanted people to leave this movie believing in something bigger and believing in something beautiful. It’s very real, and it’s very possible.”

Who stars in IF?
The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Alan Kim, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Steve Carell. IF is written and directed by John Krasinski, based on his original idea about a child’s journey in rediscovering their imagination. The movie revolves around a young girl who has the ability to see people’s imaginary friends who have been left behind after their real-life pals grew up.
It is produced by Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, and Andrew Form through their Sunday Night banner, along with Reynolds for Maximum Effort. George Dewey is also executive producing via Maximum Effort.
