ENA’s upcoming drama Tell Me That You Love Me, starring Jung Woo-sung and Shin Hyun-been, is all set to premiere in November 2023. The K-drama is based on a romance drama of the same name that was aired in Japan in 1995, receiving multiple critically acclaimed awards and significant recognition.
The drama is a classic collaboration between Love in the Moonlight screenwriter Kim Min-jung and directed by Our Beloved Summer director Kim Yoon-jin. The exact storyline and the full cast members are yet to be announced, but both Jung Woo-sung and Shin Hyun-been are cast for interesting roles.
Jung Woo-sung plays a hearing-impaired person, while Shin Hyun-been essays the role of an aspiring actress.
Jung Woo-sung & Shin Hyun-been talk about their characters in Tell Me That You Love Me
Tell Me That You Love Me follows the story of Cha Jin-woo (Jung Woo-sung), a hearing-impaired person who enjoys his solitude and can freely interact with people, but is also met with much prejudice about his character.
Describing his character, Woo-sung reportedly said, “The drama contemplates on communication through Jin Woo by looking at how well we, who communicate through phonetic language, understand the words of others, how accurately we convey our words, how it works in love between opposite sexes, and whether we are communicating incorrectly under the pretext of using the same language.”
Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-been plays the role of aspiring actress Jung Mo-eun with huge self-respect and career ambitions. Highlighting the difference in the lead actors’ characters, she said, “I hope viewers will enjoy the heartwarming story and excitement that only this drama has through the two people who understand and love each other even though they speak different languages. We will work hard to create a great project until the end, so please show lots of interest and anticipation.”
Jung Woo-sung was last seen in the movie A Man of Reason, and Shin Hyun-been was seen on Reborn Rich. Stay tuned for more updates on their latest K-drama.
