The identity of the boss of Idris Elba’s character is unknown.
Alcott (Elba) and Rake meet early in the story when Alcott commissions the mission to liberate Ketevan (Tinatin Dalakishvili). After emerging triumphant once again following a remarkable 21-minute long-take action sequence, Rake and Nik (Golshifteh Farahani) are imprisoned for what happened while confronting Zurab (Tornike Gogrichiani) in Vienna. That’s when Alcott reappears and offers Rake and his partner a way out of prison. However, the condition is that they accept to take more missions on behalf of Alcott’s boss.
The identity of this person stays hidden, and fans will have to wait for the potential Extraction 3 or spin-off projects to find out more. In the story, Rake isn’t even aware that the name of Elba’s character is Alcott, but as the latter says, what’s really important is just his boss’ mysterious identity. So far, the only information fans know is that this person is a “gnarly mother–er,” which means Rake will have plenty on his plate moving forward.
Extraction 2 isn’t the first time Elba and Hemsworth worked together on a movie. The pair first joined forces for 2011’s Thor, where Elba portrayed Heimdall and Hemsworth the titular hero. They then collaborated in several Marve Cinematic Universe installments, including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Infinity War. Their MCU credits imply both actors have also already worked with the Russo Brothers, who are serving as producers of Extraction 2. Now, they brought their on-screen chemistry to one of the most-anticipated Netflix movies in 2023.
