According to Deadline, The Expanse actor Wes Chatham has been tapped to join the cast of Lucasfilm’s upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka. He is expected to portray Grand Admiral Thrawn’s right-hand man. The Star Wars series marks Chatham’s first major TV project since Prime Video’s sci-fi action drama ended its six-season run in 2022.
“Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy,” reads the official description.
Ahsoka is written by Dave Filoni, who is executive producing along with Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy. After making her live-action debut in The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson is reprising her role as the titular Jedi.
The series will also feature Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, and Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, with Obi-Wan Kenobi star Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and Andor actress Genevieve O’Reilly. It has also been confirmed that Lars Mikkelsen, who has voiced Thrawn in the animated Star Wars Rebel series, has joined the series to portray the fan-favorite villain in live-action.
Ahsoka is scheduled to make its debut in August 2023, exclusively on Disney+.
