The recently released Black Adam almost contained a second post-credits scene that dealt with the future of one of the characters in the film.

For those unaware, in Black Adam, Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate seemingly sacrifices himself late in the movie to save Hawkman and help Black Adam escape from an underwater holding facility. At the end of the film, Doctor Fate’s helmet disintegrates, leaving it open-ended as to whether or not the mask has gone on to find another to wield it, or if Brosnan had somehow survived.
However, according to a recent report from The Direct, Black Adam was set to have a second post-credits scene — one that was filmed and prepped for the movie. In this scene, the future of Doctor Fate in the larger DC universe would have been teased, and would have seen Doctor Fate’s helmet on a sandy beach before a hand comes into frame to take it, with the scene ending before it was revealed just who was grabbing the helmet.
With a new Doctor Fate potentially set to debut in the future, it’s likely that DC simply wanted to remind fans that the helmet was still out in the world, although this idea seemed to have been scrapped in the final release of the film.
Black Adam features the introduction of Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero, whose background story was first teased during 2019’s Shazam! This marks the character’s live-action debut after only appearing in animated shows and films such as Young Justice.
