Tom Hanks is still set to reprise his The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons role of Professor Robert Langdon in the upcoming Inferno, although that third franchise film will be hitting a bit later than originally planned. Originally set for release on December 18, 2015, the Ron Howard film will now be in theaters October 14, 2016.
The book itself marks the fourth novel to follow Langdon. Published in 2013, Inferno is officially described as follows:

The moves gets Inferno away from the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII and will instead open opposite Focus Features’ A Monster Calls, directed by The Impossible helmer Juan Antonio Bayona.
