The Devil is a Part-Timer!! Episode 8 Recap
Since MgRonald’s is still undergoing renovation, Maou remains jobless. Chiho visits them and asks Maou if he wants a part-time job in Nagano. Maou, Ashiya, and Urushihara go to Nagano with Chiho and her mother. It turns out a wild boar attacked Chiho’s grandmother, causing the part-time workers to quit due to fear. With that, Chiho’s uncle needed more workers for the summer harvest. Chiho shows them around the Sasaki property, and the boys are surprised by its size.
Maou and the others introduce themselves to the rest of Chiho’s family. Hinako shows them around the fields and asks the boys to do some weeding. After that, the group goes to a bathhouse. Suddenly, Alas Ramus approaches Chiho and greets her, with Emi and Suzuno following after. Suzuno makes up a story about Alas Ramus to Chiho’s relatives. Meanwhile, Emi asks Kazuma if she and Suzuno can work at the farm as well. In the evening, Chiho and Maou go for a short walk outside. They discuss why Emi decided to work with Maou and the boys at the farm. Maou understands the situation, considering Emi’s family used to have the same livelihood. Maou and Chiho agree that Emi is still sorting out her feelings.
The next day, Emi wakes the boys up at 4:30 a.m. Kazuma divides everyone into pairs, putting Maou and Emi together. While harvesting, Emi shares her sentiments towards Maou concerning the demons destroying her hometown. She says she doesn’t want Maou to feel sorry for what he did — otherwise, it might change her mind, even just a little. After harvesting, Maou and Ashiya feel that they should do more work. Grandma Ei asks them to bring Hitoshi to his mother. Chiho and Alas Ramus tag along with them. They meet up with Emi and Hinako, but a bear appears and senses their presence.
