According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu is picking up the series for a third season, just under a month after the premiere of its second season. Season two has garnered plenty of positive press, similarly to the first season of the series. In a statement made to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu acknowledged the move, calling the series “the true crown jewel” of their programming slate, and that they were happy to be bringing it back for a third season.

Only Murders in the Building is the true crown jewel of our slate. Its appeal across generations, the intersection of humor and heart, and its truly original approach are a hallmark of and testament to Dan [Fogelman], John [Hoffman], Steve, Marty, and Selena’s work,” said Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment president Craig Erwich in the statement. “We are grateful to be able to continue telling the stories of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel to viewers that have consistently shown us they crave more of this story.”

Only Murders in the Building centers around three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. Joining Short, Gomez, and Martin are Nathan Lane, Aaron Dominguez, and Amy Ryan.

Season two also features the addition of Cara Delevinge, Michael Rapaport, Amy Schumer, and Shirley MacLaine.

“In season two, following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver & Mabel race to unmask her killer,” reads the synopsis. “However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue – the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder.”
