Morgan Freeman, who is back on the big screen in this weekend’s Dolphin Tale 2, has signed on for a role in a very different sequel: Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2. Variety reports that Freeman will play a famous civil rights lawyer who comes to Ted’s aid.
Written by, directed by and starring MacFarlane, Ted 2 is Universal and Media Rights Capital’s follow-up to the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time. Joined once again by star Mark Wahlberg and fellow Ted writers Alec Sulkin & Wellesley Wild, MacFarlane produces the live action/CG-animated comedy alongside Bluegrass Films’ Scott Stuber, as well as John Jacobs and Jason Clark.
Amanda Seyfried is taking the female lead this time around, but Mila Kunis is expected to appear as well.
Ted 2 hits the big screen June 26, 2015.
