It’s a good week for some sci-fi fantasy drama.
Hulu will be releasing the first episode in the third and final run of Motherland: Fort Salem on June 22. The series created and written by Eliot Laurence first aired on March 18, 2020, and followed a group of witches conscripted into the U.S. Army. The cast features Taylor Hickson, Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Amalia Holm, as well as Demetria McKinney, and Lyne Renée.
Motherland: Fort Salem “is set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution nearly 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country,” per the synopsis. “In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with the more dominant women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are familiar to our world — but with supernatural tactics and weapons.”

The streaming platform will also debut a few exciting films. Starting June 25, fans can catch Brian Petsos’ Big Gold Brick, a dark comedy featuring Andy Garcia, Megan Fox, and Oscar Isaac, among others (check out our interviews with Garcia and director Brian Pestos to learn more). Additionally, Gasoline Alley is available on the same day. The movie, directed by Edward John Drake, stars Bruce Willis as Bill Freeman, a detective investigating a mass murder of prostitutes together with his long-term partner, Luke Wilson’s Freddy Vargas. It will be one of Willis’ last on-screen appearances as the actor announced his retirement due to health issues earlier this year.
