Across the Spider-verse part one and two delay

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Part II Gets New Title

During CinemaCon, Sony Pictures released the first 15 minutes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and revealed the new title for its sequel, which was previously known as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Part II.

The new name for Part II is now Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. This news comes after both films were delayed. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will now release on June 2, 2023, eight months later than its original October 2022 release date. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will now release on March 29, 2024. That means back-to-back years of animated Spider-Man releases.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman join Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld in the animated comic book sequel, who are reprising their roles as Miles Morales/Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, respectively. Plot details are being kept under wraps but will reportedly feature multiple Spider-powered characters “across Marvel Comics’ time and space.”

It was announced in April that Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson will serve as the film’s trio of directors. Lord, Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg are all returning to produce the Sony Pictures project, with Alonzo Ruvalcaba co-producing. The original Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey will executive produce, along with Aditya Sood.
