According to Deadline, Orion Pictures and Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions have teamed up to produce the upcoming high school sex comedy film titled Bottoms. The project hails from director Emma Seligman, who is set to reunite with actress Rachel Sennott (Bodies Bodies Bodies) after they worked together in her 2020 directorial debut film Shiva Baby.

Sennott will be leading the film along with Ayo Edebiri (Big Mouth), who previously co-starred in the online comedy series Ayo and Rachel Are Single. Joining them are No Exit breakout Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Gerber (American Horror Story), Marshawn Lynch (Murderville), Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock), Nicholas Galitzine (Cinderella), Miles Fowler (Winning Time), Dagmara Dominczyk (Succession) and Punkie Johnson (Love Life).
Bottoms will be directed by Seligman from a screenplay she co-wrote with Sennott. The story will revolve around “two unpopular queer girls in their senior year who start a fight club to try to impress and hook up with cheerleaders,” reads the synopsis.

The film will be produced by Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, and Alison Small through their Brownstone Productions. Production is expected to begin this spring.
