Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been in development for some time, but ahead of its upcoming release on April 5 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, developer Traveller’s Tales has detailed how it has built out the world of Star Wars in Lego form.

In a new video talking about the upcoming title, various members of the development team discussed how they approached building out the galaxy of Star Wars. This includes getting the chance to finally map out various planets that they haven’t gotten the chance to explore yet, which includes worlds from the recent sequel trilogy like Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s Ahch-To and more.
The team behind the game also talked about the dedication to realism it has strived to accomplish. For example, it features “weathering” effects that will cause sand and snow to collect on players and vehicles; something players might notice on Tatooine and Hoth, respectively. The game was also designed to be more open and will have various side quests, hidden challenges, and space battles that players can take part in to break up the main missions. There’s even a side quest where users can feed the Sarlacc pit.
