A24 has dropped the official X trailer for director Ti West’s first horror feature in eight years following 2013’s found-footage thriller The Sacrament. The two-and-a-half-minute video features an adult film crew that rents a secluded farmhouse from an elderly couple, who aren’t what they seem to be. It is scheduled to make its debut in theaters on March 18, 2022.

X will star Mia Goth (Suspiria), Jenna Ortega (Scream 5), Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (Don’t Look Up), Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect films), Martin Henderson (The Ring), Owen Campbell, and Stephen Ure.
“At a secluded farmhouse in Texas, a film crew arrives to shoot an adult film,” reads the synopsis. “Their hosts, a reclusive elderly couple, take a special interest in their young guests. As night falls, the couple’s leering interest turns violent.”
The film is a production by A24 and BRON Studios. Kid Cudi is executive producing through his Mad Solar banner, with Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, Sam Levinson, and Ashley Levinson producing via their Little Lamb Productions banner.

West’s previous horror efforts include The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, segments of V/H/S and The ABCs of Death and The Sacrament, as well as episodes of MTV’s Scream, Cinemax’s Outcast, and Fox’s The Exorcist and Wayward Pines.
